Three different calendars

Puerto Rico does not have a single holiday calendar. OpenDay keeps three apart:

The Sunday-to-Monday rule

Código Político Art. 387 moves a holiday that falls on a Sunday to the following Monday. A Saturday holiday is not moved, so there is no weekday off. Moved in 2026: Emancipation Day. On a Saturday and not moved: US Independence Day and Puerto Rico Constitution Day.

The yearly OATRH memo

Each year the Office of Human Resources Administration and Transformation (OATRH) issues the government holiday calendar. Confirmed dates cite the memo; a date not yet confirmed carries the note “Pending official confirmation”. Status for 2026: computed.
